Qualified from the University of Liverpool and then pursued a career in the hospital services for many years before branching out into dental practice. The early part of his hospital career formulated his training in oral surgery which led to initially gaining Membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MFDS.RCS.Eng).
Having gained the Gold Medal for this examination he then continued on his oral surgery career pathway which culminated in the prestigious award of the Specialty Diploma of Membership in Surgical Dentistry for the Royal College of Surgeons of England (M SURG DENT.RCS.Eng). During his career he has also gained vast experience in all areas of dentistry especially in Oral Surgery, Restorative Dentistry, Implant Dentistry and Periodontics.
As part of his treatments currently and in his Oral Surgery training, intravenous sedation was routinely used to remove any anxiety that may be felt by a patient. As well as being involved in dental health care, he is also one of the few dentists that is qualified and involved with Facial rejuvenation and aesthetics via non-surgical skin treatments such as Botulinum Toxin and Hyaluronic acid fillers.
Dr. Thorp is one of the principals of the practice and also works as an Associate Specialist in Oral Surgery in Warrington hospital. He is also in the process of attaining a Masters Degree in Implant Dentistry.
