You may be aware from news reports that on Thursday 28 May, HM Government have allowed dental practices in England to recommence both urgent and routine care, where it is safe to do so. This will apply from 8 June.
Healthcare in Wales, including dentistry, is broadly the responsibility of the Welsh Government. Current Welsh Government guidelines have given a much needed structure though these are being updated to reflect changes nationwide. The new guidance in England does not apply to Welsh dental practices.
Due to the nature of our work, dental practices and their teams are experts in managing and controlling cross-infection risk. This means we are well placed to provide a safe and effective service to patients, even in difficult times such as these.
We have been working very hard behind the scenes which will not come as a surprise to those of you that know us! When you attend the practice there has been a number of changes. For more information on this please click the following link
We understand change of any kind is a little unsettling but we will guide you through it in our usual caring DYC way!
We obviously continue to monitor guidance issued by Welsh Government, as well as other relevant authorities. All necessary updates will be publicised on this site, by phone/text and via social media. We would also be very grateful when contacting the practice, if you could provide an email address to provide us with another avenue of keeping you informed.
In the meantime, our existing care arrangements remain and any registered patient of Dant Y Coed Dental Practice can obtain advice and guidance by telephone from one of our dental surgeons by dialling 01978 759876, 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. Emergency appointments are available following a Covid 19 triage. For out of hours advice Private and IndepenDent plan patients should call 01244 355240 or plan patients can also call the dedicated emergency telephone service (the details of which has been sent in a recent letter.
On behalf of the Dant Y Coed Team, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for bearing with us through these unusual times. The messages of support and the kindness that has been shown by our community have been overwhelming and we are all very grateful. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
With warmest best wishes,
Adrian and Ravi
